December 20, 2008, we  got  a new puppy, "Jackie", born Oct. 1, 2008.   She is a darling Jack Russell Terrier, and not a terror....yet!  Come see her!

 Outstanding B & B in Virginia.  Federal Crest has been recognized as one of Lynchburg's top B & B's, now in operation for 20 years under innkeepers/owners Ann & Phil Ripley. 2007 & 2008 selected as one of the TOP TEN Bed and Breakfasts in VA by American Dreams, Inc.  Chosen by the US Local Business Association as the "2014 Best Lodging in Lynchburg".

 "Art by Ann" - Hand painted crystal and glassware by Ann has found its way into  specialty shops (Old Town Alexandria, Lynchburg Visitor Ctr. gift shop,etc.) and she has taught several workshops to artists on  her technique.

Federal Crest "Most Affordable Luxury"- Voted by guests of Arrington's Inn Traveler, a national magazine. Out of 15 inns in the United States to receive this honor, we were number 2 in the top ranking!!!!!!!!

 Main Street  & Old City Cemetery Art Shows- Paintings by Ann were exhibited in the  shows and her "The Lady at the Market" was featured on the local news.

"Blue Ribbon Awards"- Ann has received blue ribbons for her arcylic painting of "Snow in Virginia", the slate painting of "The Old City Cemetery" and the glass goblet design of "Tiny pink rosebuds".  The artwork advanced on to the Regional level of the Woman's Club Art and Craft Show held in March & her rosebud goblet took first place.     See photos on this website under the menu choice: ART BY ANN

 Heritage Tree Award:The Tree Stewards of Greater Lynchburg voted the magnificent century-old magnolia tree in the front yard of the Federal Crest Inn as the recipient of the 2002 HeritageTree Award. A panel of judges selected the Southern Magnolia for its size, beauty and age after reviewing numerous nominations in the area.
